[PC/Macintosh] Microsoft Home Fine Artist + Creative Writer Combo (3.5" Floppy). Condition is "Brand New". Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
Included per each individual quanity is a double sided installation manual for the two systems the software can install to and a sealed set of 3x 3.5" Floppy installation diskettes for the Microsoft Home Fine Artist and Microsoft Home Creative Write applications. The softwate version is 1.0, per the included setup booklet, from 1994.
The setup booklet refers to "System 7" for Apple Macintosh and does not give any hints to which version of Windows it was expected to be used with, though the assumption would be Windows Version 3.1 as the minimum and is likely supported up to Windows XP but no guarentee on that, mere speculation due to DOS support in XP. I do not know the HDD space nor RAM requirements, etc.
They will be shipped out OEM style in a protective bubble mailer of approximately 10" by 7" by 1".
The application diskettes permit install to both Windows and Apple Macintosh computers. I assume these only run on DOS based operating systems from the early 1990's, so you either need to have the antique hardware and operating systems that these are compatible with or the means to emulate DOS on modern hardware to utilize them. I do not fiddle with tech that far back, but I can tell you that for the later scenario with modern Windows the suggestion is to look into an application called DOS-Box as I have heard it often suggested for running vinatage PC games and applications. I have never gotten around to testing it myself to be able to vouch for it.
These did not have outer boxes as they were part of a kids keyboard and mouse set that were dismantled for scrap as it was deemed too expensive to ship and too unlikely to move quickly at a reasonable value whilst taking up significant space as they sit to be sold.
I find that these programs are trending to individually sell for my asking price for just the PC specifc editions on 3.5" floppy. This listing is for both programs for use on both operating system environments that they were available for.
The Mac versions appear to be much more scarce and rare than the Windows versions. I can't even find listings for both of these applications with Macintosh support seperately, only the Creative Writer and as the install diskette only. I may very well currently have the only offering of both of these applications in Apple Macintosh compatible format! I also do not find recent history of any of these sets selling, likely due to current high asking prices for single format versions.
As a short description of the applications, they are Creative and Productivity applications designed to appeal to kids and have a sort-of Nickolodeon's Dough and Cartoon Network's Chowder style of design to the characters. The dude on and in the booklet is called McZee and was a character Microsoft came up with, but apparently he is not the only character featured in the programs when I looked them up.
Ebay has given me the option to offer USPS Media Mail as a shipment option so they will ship out as such to save you vs the typical cost to mail a parcel.
FYI, as eBay is handling the payments I do not beleive I can combine shipment on multiple orders and I am fairly certian they will have me ship each unit individually. From my experience with single quantity listings I've only been permitted to purchase a label shipped via the method they deemed (regardless of what the buyer paid for) and they tell me to ship out with that label.
