Curry CCAPS #1 for Yamaha, Stomvi Trumpet. Condition is "Used".
These are heavy valve caps that you screw on to the bottom of your valve casings. They change the focus and slotting of notes. They reduce vibration in the horn and make it easier to control.
Important: if you are using these for a Yamaha trumpet, you need to unscrew your bottom caps and look at the threads. Yamaha makes two types of threads: one with @ 6-7 threads that these CCAPS will fit and another thread with numerous tiny threads (many more that 7) that these CCAPS will not fit.
I’ve used CCAPS on many horns. In general I like them. But lots of experimentation is required. Sometimes horns play better with just one CCAP on the third valve casing. Sometimes the 1st and 3rd with a CCAP is preferred. Other times a CCAP on all 3 works best. Finally, some horns just play better without them at all. As far as the rubber bumpers that wrap around the casing and the individual weights, sometimes they help improve performance and sometimes they don’t. Usually I used CCAP’s without the rubber ring and weight. But again, you need to experiment to see what you like best.
